Dos and Don'ts: Team Members and Supporters

November 9 2016

FlipGive is a free team funding app that makes raising money a breeze. Teams earn cash back for buying the things they already need. Get paid whenever you shop, dine out, book hotels or activities.

FlipGive's interface has tons of tools that you and your team can use to help fundraise. While that's great, sometimes it's a little confusing, especially when you're trying to explain how FlipGive works to your team. Here's a breakdown of what each fundraising role means, and some dos and don'ts for each so you can utilize each system in the best way possible and raise even more for your team!

Team Member:

A FlipGive team member is someone who directly benefits from the fundraiser you have started. For an athletic team, that would mean coach, team manager, and players. For a non-profit, committee members and those responsible for organizing events would be the people you would want to add to your team. Team members can post and receive updates, and supporters can shop or donate directly to them as well as the cause itself.

Do: Add them to the team and make sure they accept so they can recieve updates on how your team is doing

Do: Encourage your team members to post updates about the fundraiser.

Do: Share your fundraiser and team member page with friends and family so they can support you!

Do: Install the FlipGive cash back button so you know which sites get you cash back.

Don't: add too many members to your team. FlipGive sends team members information that is only relevant to them, and can put off your supporters.

Supporter:

A supporter is someone who wants to shop through your page or donate to your cause. This person is not directly affiliated with your fundraiser, cannot post updates, and can only donate to a team member. Anyone you would approach to donate to your cause is someone who you should approach about supporting your FlipGive fundraiser.

Do: email your supporters to tell them about your fundraiser.

Do: Encourage your supporters to  post on social about your fundraiser so their friends can easily shop.

Don't: Add supporters to your team. It confuses your actual team members and gives supporters too much of an active role in your fundraiser.
